At ArtistCorps, our mission extends far beyond merely providing access to the arts and creative education for underserved communities—it's about making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Within this heartfelt endeavor, my personal commitment shines through my work with Music Between Us. Spending three mornings each week at the Williams Adult Day Care Center, I have the privilege of engaging in music-making sessions with seniors who are living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. These past three years have been an extraordinary journey of friendship, bonded over cherished songs, dance, and shared laughter. Witnessing the joy and transformation in our sessions has been profoundly rewarding, teaching me the immense impact of genuine care and love.

Our interactions at the Williams Day Care Center go beyond music; they're educational and cultural exchanges. Hailing from Lithuania, I had the unique opportunity to share my heritage with the seniors. Last year, they kindly invited me to volunteer and introduce them to Lithuania. Together, we explored the country’s history, savored traditional desserts, and even picked up a few Lithianian words.

My experiences at ArtistCorps have profoundly shaped my understanding of leadership. I've learned that true leadership is about serving others first and foremost. This realization has fundamentally influenced my approach to leadership, both in my professional role and in my personal growth.
